where are we going from here...

After our mid-term presentation, where we recieved some interesting comments and ideas for our further developement of the wall, we took a step back.

We took a step back from the digital software and decided to draw out our thoughts and ideas....back to the drawing board. We are now taking a more simple approach to the design and then working towards the digital. Not so much letting the software drive our design, but our design driving the software!

The pinUp space is something that can not have a random form, it has to have a function. It can not be just any size. It has to have restrictions and parameters.

Things we are considering now...

the size of the pinup wall sections
human scale
new materials
weight
drawing sizes

We kind of got lost in the programs and have to go back to the basics of building and designing. We want to take what we have learned from grasshopper, digital project, and rhino to push the envelope even further and design a unique and interactive pinUp space.

finding a solution

Problem: What goes wrong during a jury presentation?

There is difficulty in reading the drawings.
The model needs to be rotated or moved.
The height placement of the models are not at eye level.

Solution:

Designing a pinUp wall that is a better display and showcase of the work. The wall must be interactive. The wall must emphasize the work. The wall must be easily assembled and work within some basic parameters. The wall becomes almost exhibition-like for the work.

actuator

in order to allow for a flexible pinUP space we researched actuator motors
actuator motors
- rotation device with an adjustable 360 degree horizontal rotation and vertical titling - has one round and one oval vacuum plate - has height adjustment - stands 4ft
